Features of the Brooks Glycerin 20
These are top-of-the-line neutral running shoes. They remain among the best cushioned shoes for long distances.
Ideal shoes for accumulating miles and making them your main training shoe.
Medium to heavy runners will get the best performance out of them.
The Glycerin has always been focused on a very specific type of runner: generally heavier runners (over 80 kg) who seek great comfort, good cushioning, and a generous toe box. They tend to be runners who prioritize comfort over high running speeds.
It's a very soft-riding shoe, thanks to the DNA LOFT V3 cushioning (yes, V3, an improved version) and the 5.5mm thick OrthoLite insole. The foam footbed also helps to enhance an already great feeling of comfort.
It also has a padded fit that will give you super smooth transitions, without sacrificing responsiveness.
10mm drop, which reflects their cushioned nature.
The weight continues to lighten, at 256 gr. for women and 286 gr. for men. This indicates they are training shoes, designed for many miles and to protect your feet from ground impacts.
Upper
Double-layer Jacquard Mesh upper with improved density and pattern, making it more elastic and more open in this 20th version. This improves ventilation.
The heel counter and the internal lining of the entire rear part have also been redesigned, achieving greater comfort when running in them.
Thanks to 3D Fit Print technology, the fit is even further improved. In the Glycerin 20, the upper reinforcement is distributed in small TPU strips that maintain reinforcement while allowing breathability.
The internal bootie is elastic and wraps the foot, producing a cushioned sensation that moves and expands with each stride.
The padded rear collar is truly comfortable and will hug the ankle, keeping it in place at all times.

Glycerin 20 Midsole
Built with DNA LOFT V3 cushioning technology, which achieves a great balance between responsiveness and durability.
Thanks to DNA, the faster the runner goes, the more resistance to deformation there will be in the midsole, and the more responsive it will be. Conversely, when slowing down, the DNA material will cushion more softly.
In other words, DNA is a polymer that adapts to every moment of the run, reacting softly when you go slow, and with firmness and responsiveness when you go fast. And LOFT is the finish. The DNA variant that achieves that super soft cushioning.
If you look at the black or pink strip separating the midsole from the upper, it is also made of DNA LOFT. In this case, its function is to keep the foot stable in place, without it moving laterally beyond the shoe's own contour.
Regarding the irregularities on the sides of the midsole: The grooves promote a softer deformation of the material, improving cushioning, and the excess material on the inside offers greater resistance, which provides.

– GTS shoes give you a more stable stride. Ideal for pronating runners. –
The acronym GTS indicates that the shoes feature GuideRails technology. You will have a stable stride. They provide support for your body while it follows its natural trajectory and controls excessive movement.
Outsole
It stands out for its grip on both asphalt and other surfaces such as fine gravel paths or public parks.
It remains more or less like previous Glycerin models. It differs in two parts: a horseshoe-shaped heel and a wide forefoot to provide stability as a base with a lot of ground contact.
In the horseshoe-shaped heel area, you'll find the most resistant compound.
There's an empty part in the heel to favor cushioning, as it allows the part of the shoe directly above it to expand, creating a rebound effect when the material returns to its original position.
In the 20th version, the six transverse flex grooves are now shorter, and the outer halves of these grooves have been filled with high abrasion-resistant material.
Perhaps some flexibility is exchanged for agility, pace, and the transition of each stride.
From the middle of the sole to the toe, the material is softer, achieving grip and more comfort.

And along with the above, the IDEAL Pressure Zones work to evenly disperse impact away from the body for effortless running. This is based on a distribution in large transverse blocks that distribute the pressure of the stride itself when running.
The large separation between the lugs, and the transverse grooves, promote the extraordinary flexibility of the Glycerin 20 from day one.
