New Features
The Alphafly Next% appeared on the market with the intention of being the evolution of the Vaporfly Next%. But the first version had quite a few fans and also many detractors.
Today, the Vaporfly Next% 2 is more agile, explosive, and versatile. The Alphafly Next% 2 is more secure and stable over longer distances, although it has also gained in radicality.
The forefoot area gains in material and width; this is where the magic of these shoes happens during foot transition.
If you look closely, Zoom X foam has been placed under the Air Zoom chambers. This aims to create a new running sensation.
The drop of the Alphafly Next% 2 has increased from 4 to 8mm. So now it will be easier to land properly with the front half of the shoe.
In this version 2, you will notice more stability in turns.
Upper
It is made of a highly technical fabric called Atomknit, which is an evolution of the Flyknit family. With it, you will get an anatomical, lightweight, and very breathable fit.
The tongue is integrated with the upper mesh. This allows for a more uniform fit and makes tying the shoes more comfortable.
The laces are grooved to keep them in place.
A notable new feature is the two pads made with Flyknit yarn on the upper part of the heel. They provide comfort and support with minimal weight to fully wrap the foot.

Midsole
Viewed from the side, the rocker shape is slightly increased. This slightly more rounded shape of the midsole makes your stride as efficient as possible, and you spend less time in contact with the ground.
The midsole is made with full-length ZoomX foam, along the entire shoe. And it also features two Zoom Air units in the forefoot. This explains the great cushioning with Nike's highest energy return to add more bounce to each stride.
Of course, the full carbon fiber plate also aids in reactivity with each of your strides. Thanks to it, you will feel a greater sense of forward momentum.
The full ZoomX foam gives you a reactive ride with ultra-light weight.
Outsole
Made of rubber with flexible grooves and different traction angles placed where they are most needed to offer grip in all phases of the stride. It is a thinner outsole, but Nike says it is made of a more durable material. And with that thinness, some weight is saved.
