ADIDAS Adizero Adios Pro 3 – Record-Breaking Shoes

ADIDAS Adizero Adios Pro 3 - Zapatilla de Récords

Here we bring you version 3 of the latest running shoes from the German brand Adidas. Made for explosive and dynamic speed.

If you are an athlete or a very fast runner and want to break any of your personal records, these are your shoes. As they are within the legal limit allowed by World Athletics.

They are dedicated to medium and long distances. You can also use them for shorter distances, but the Takumi Sen 8 might give you better performance.

Very limited units, if your size is available, buy them! Shoes that fly on the track and off the shelves.

According to the Adidas website: "60% of victories in the world's major marathons in 2021 were achieved by runners wearing Adizero Adios Pro 2."

As an example of this (although with version 1), it is worth remembering that the World Record for the Half Marathon in women-only races is still held. Athlete Peres Jepchirchir stopped the clock at 1:05:34. It happened on September 5, 2020.

And the most recent example we can cite is Spanish runner Marta Galimany, who broke the Spanish marathon record, stopping the clock at 2:26:14 in the 42nd edition of the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon on December 14, 2022. The previous record dated back to 1995.

What's New in the Adizero Adios Pro 3

After having enjoyed version 2, athletes will have already forgotten what the previous Adizero Adios were like.

They are simply, as we have already stated in the title, competition shoes designed and manufactured to break records.

The Adios Pro 3 innovations:

1.- The midsole still consists of two layers of Lightstrike Pro foam. Now with two different densities, to increase reactivity.

2.- In this version, the shape on the outer side, in the area below the toes, changes. There are wedge-shaped cuts in the foam, which seem to be inspired by the adidas Adizero Takumi Sen 8 model.

3.- The drop is reduced. It is now 6.5 mm (heel: 39.5 mm and forefoot: 33 mm). This figure is more in line with the drops of racing shoes for breaking times.

4.- In this version 3, the front and back of the sole platform are slightly wider. This provides more comfort for the feet and greater stability.

Features of the Adizero Adios Pro 3

Those who have tried the Adizero Adios Pro 3 first highlight the excellent balance between responsiveness and comfort.

They weigh 239 grams and have a drop of 6.5 mm. This is lower than in the previous version.

Upper

It is made of Celermesh technical mesh, which stands out for being very light, flexible, and breathable, while also providing reinforcement in specific necessary areas.

Midsole

The main innovation, and what differentiates them from previous models and the competition, is a reactive Lightstrike Pro foam midsole that is divided into two parts with different densities.

Energyrods: these are five carbon rods designed to achieve an anatomical transition of the stride, reducing energy loss.

In the front part (the area where the fastest athletes land and push off), the rods are separate and open, arranged like the bones of the toes. In the midfoot, the rods come together.
And in the heel part, the rods converge into a single one, forming a loop. This replaces the carbon plate piece that was in version 2.

This midsole will give you smooth and agile transitions, along with optimized cushioning.

Lightstrike Pro is an ultralight, highly reactive foam that stores and returns more energy than ever before. Excellent cushioning with minimal weight.

Outsole

It is surprising for having a completely smooth profile, nothing like a lugged sole.

The London Marathon 2020 and the Adizero Adios Pro

The 2020 edition was exclusively for elite and professional athletes and was held on a closed circuit of about 2 kilometers around St James Park.

Within the marathon, another battle was fought. The Nike vs Adidas duel, or the battle of carbon plate shoes within running shoes.

The athletes equipped by Adidas were:

Kenyans Vincent Kipchumba and Benson Kipruto, and Ethiopian Tamirat Tola. All of them wore Adidas Adizero Adios Pro.

· Vincent Kipchumba finished second, with a time of 2:05:42. He missed victory by just one second.
· Tamirat Tola was sixth, with a time of 2:06:41.
· Benson Kipruto finished seventh, recording a time of 2:06:42.
