Nike Vaporfly 4 and Streakfly 2: two beasts for flying in races
Eight years after the Vaporfly changed the game in the running world, Nike is back with the fourth version of its iconic racing shoe: the Nike Vaporfly Next 4; and it's not alone: the new Nike Streakfly 2 is also landing, designed for those seeking speed over short distances.
Nike Vaporfly 4
The new Vaporfly 4 maintains the essence that made it a legend: a ZoomX midsole combined with a Flyplate carbon plate. If it works... why change it? This combo makes it one of the fastest shoes on the market right now.
However, there are interesting changes. The profile has been slightly redesigned to improve transition during running, now being very similar to that of the Alphafly 3. They have also reduced material between the midfoot and heel, exposing the Flyplate carbon plate to make the shoe lighter and more dynamic. The result: an even more agile shoe weighing only 190g with a 6 mm drop.
The upper of the Nike Vaporfly 4 is made with a super breathable and lightweight Engineered Mesh. In the heel area, protections have been added to prevent chafing during longer runs. And on the outsole, thin rubber has been placed only on the front to reduce grams without losing traction.
Nike Streakfly 2
The new Streakfly 2 is practically unrecognizable when compared to its previous version. This short-distance model from the American brand has been revamped from top to bottom and comes with a design very similar to the Vaporfly 4.
One of the major novelties is the Flyplate, which now covers the entire midsole and is visible in the central area of the shoe. Combined with ZoomX foam, it makes for much more reactive and explosive shoes than their predecessors, ideal for runners seeking pure performance in fast races.
The upper is also Engineered Mesh, ensuring lightness and breathability, while the outsole incorporates a new thin mesh material that offers perfect grip without adding weight.
The most striking feature is the midsole geometry, as it is very similar to track spikes, which encourages midfoot striking, minimizing heel striking with an aggressive and powerful stride. Additionally, it has a 4 mm drop and weighs only 145 g.

Which distances will they perform best in?
The Streakfly 2 is designed for those looking to push their limits in 5K or 10K races. Its low profile, extreme lightness, and immediate response make it an ideal shoe for very fast paces.
Meanwhile, the Nike Vaporfly 4 already features a greater quantity of ZoomX, thus increasing the midsole profile, which will provide greater protection for longer distances. Making it a safe bet for races from 10K up to a marathon.
And yes, if you're already imagining yourself wearing them... both models are available on our website and in physical stores!
