Juegos Olímpicos de París, un escaparate para las marcas

Paris Olympics, a showcase for brands

The Paris Olympic Games kick off on Friday, July 26, an event that serves as a platform for brands to showcase their latest innovations. They will compete to be the number one brand in the market, with the goal of having the most medal-winning athletes.

This year, new players have entered the equation; Nike and Adidas will no longer be alone. Brands like On, Asics, New Balance, Hoka, Brooks, and Puma have gained strength in recent years when it comes to spiked and road racing shoes.

The Marathon: Eliud Kipchoge's Last Olympics?

One of the greatest marathon runners in history arrives in Paris determined to win his third consecutive Olympic gold in this discipline, in what could be his last Olympic marathon.

On August 10, Kenenisa Bekele, at 42 years old, will also be at the starting line.

They come to this event with very different results. While Kipchoge finished 10th in Tokyo, Bekele set a marathon record in the M40 category in London, achieving a second-place finish.

But the battle will not be between these two runners, but between Nike and Adidas: which of the two brands will dominate the distance? Will it be the German brand with the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1/Adizero Adios Pro 3, or the American brand with the Alphafly 3/Vaporfly 3?

In the women's category, the podium is more open, with On Running, represented by athlete Hellen Obiri, having a strong chance to contend for victory.

A 1500m Race with Plenty of Intrigue

One of the most anticipated matchups at these Olympic Games is between Jakob Ingebrigtsen (Nike) and Josh Kerr (Brooks), athletes who are in incredible form. The latter recently defeated Jakob in the Bowerman Mile during the Prefontaine Classic.

In this distance, all eyes are on our Spanish athletes: Ignacio Fontes (Nike), Mario García (On), and Adel Mechaal (Asics). In the women's category: Esther Guerrero (New Balance), Águeda Marqués (Adidas), and Marta Pérez (Adidas).

The Spanish Athletes

Our athletes are in great shape, having achieved excellent results in recent competitions. Among those we can highlight in the triple jump are Jordan Díaz and Ana Peleteiro, both winning the European Championship in Rome.

Another strong medal contender for Spain is in the 800m with young On athlete, Mohamed Attaoui, who recently secured a silver medal at the European Championships.

Our eyes will also be on race walking, where Álvaro Martín and María Pérez are clear favorites for Olympic gold, a discipline where we also find European runner-up Paul McGrath.

Javelin thrower Yulenmis Aguilar could be another athlete to bring home a medal.

Starting August 1st, we will be able to enjoy the best athletics in the world and see if the hegemony of the two big brands, Nike and Adidas, continues, or if brands like On, Asics, New Balance… are capable of challenging them.
