Crónica de la Media Maratón de Torrevieja 2016

Below we reproduce María Ángeles Aráez's account

Our Urban Runner from Torrevieja who ran the Torrevieja Half Marathon 2016 last Sunday. Her first Half Marathon. She thought it would take her three hours, but it turns out she was trained to do it at a pace of less than 5.5 mins/km, thanks to the support of her partner José Antonio, another Urban Runner. One more example of self-improvement based on running.

“It was my first Half Marathon”

We had been preparing for it with great care and enthusiasm, but I had an injury and thought I wouldn't be able to run it.” My intention was to do it more as a competition, but I prepared myself to finish it even if it was only at 6 km/h. That was my intention. I started calmly, excited and eager to finish it, and as I went on, I felt better, I enjoyed every minute, every kilometer. While running, I sang, cheered, and shouted. I was happy to see my fellow Urban Runners supporting each other and showing that we are a great group full of camaraderie. The moment of reaching the finish line, seeing my children, and seeing the time was incredible.

MY CHALLENGE ACHIEVED!

This race has been very positive and full of good moments. What I take from this race is my partner José Antonio Herrero and that I smiled again. OH! And I didn't see the 6 at any point… ha ha ha! “Many congratulations María Ángeles and José Antonio from the entire team at Be Urban Running.
