Who are they addressed to?

Nike Streakfly

adidas Takumi Sen 8

We bring you a comparison of two flying shoes to face a 5k or a 10k. They are two shoes with very similar features. And that recover the low and minimalist profile of the most classic flying shoes.

With these two models, the two brands seek to satisfy the needs and tastes of a few elite athletes.  They are looking for light, fast shoes, with new technologies but with a less maximalist construction, so fashionable lately.

The two shoes are consolidated models but that have been absolutely redesigned.  They have evolved a lot with respect to their previous versions.

As great curiosity we will tell you that both weigh the same, 185 gr.

Who are they addressed to?

For once we will begin by explaining the profile of the runner who looks for this type of running shoes.  Because evidently it is a very minority group.

These are shoes for elite athletes.  Especially for those runners who want to feel more the ground in each of their steps.

Popular runners can also have access to them.  And quite a few of them will want to wear them in their competitions up to a 10k.  But it will be good for them to be clear that they are two pure competition shoes and they are only suitable for runners with a very good running technique.  And they will only be optimal for runners who can cover a 10K under 35 minutes.

Nike Streakfly

Here we have the latest running shoes from Nike. And as you can see in the image, they make it very clear that they are made to compete in short races from 5 km to 10 km.

They weigh 185g and have a drop of 8mm.

Already at first glance you can see that they are low profile, agile and very light. They seek to recapture the spirit of the classic flying racing shoes, low profile, aggressive, ultra fast.

The new Streakfly are the evolution of the Streak and Streak LT, models that are highly valued among the most loyal athletes of the American brand.

The Nike Streakfly has all these features without being as stiff as the carbon plate shoes.

The upper is made of ultra-thin, lightweight knit mesh. It will also give you the support you need for your run.

The midsole is composed of full-length ZoomX foam, which gives you that lightweight and responsive feel.  The stacked foam height is lower than in the Vaporfly, which saves weight and adds aggressiveness.

The outsole has a solid grip pattern in all phases of the stride.

The adidas Adizero Takumi Sen 8 are made to run with blistering speed in 5K and 10K races.  And lighter weight runners will be able to reach the half marathon.

Ideal for those who run at 4:00 min/km or less.

They weigh 185 gr. and their drop is 6mm, a figure closer to the drop of the classic minimalist flying shoes.

The midsole is composed with Lightstrike Pro cushioning foam and ENERGYRODS shafts, you'll feel a greater sense of power and momentum in each of your steps.

As the best example of an athlete who runs with the Takumi, we have the Ethiopian Senbere Teferi.  On 12 September 2021, in an all-female event, she broke the world record for the 5k with a time of 14 minutes and 29 seconds.
